While County Clare’s headline spots like Lahinch, Doolin and Spanish Point are always worth a visit, villages like Quin offer something truly special. With Quin Abbey at its heart, the village has timeless character, and The Monk’s Well is a big reason why. This locally owned pub delivers on every front: warm hospitality, excellent food, and six beautifully finished bedrooms that make staying over very tempting indeed. The surprise bonus is its superb coffee shop, serving top-quality coffee alongside freshly baked pastries and cakes made on site. After exploring Quin Abbey, this is the perfect place to pause, refuel and soak up authentic Clare charm.

In the heart of Quin, The Monks Well delivers a food experience that feels both thoughtful and refreshingly uncomplicated. Rescued from the brink of demolition by owners Adrian and Diana Fleming, this beautifully restored pub now stands among the finest I’ve seen in Co. Clare. While the six stylish bedrooms are a huge draw, the food offering is very much the star. By day, The Monks Pantry Café serves expertly crafted coffee, locally roasted and full of character. Breakfast and brunch are excellent, and the light lunch menu is ideal before heading out to explore Clare. Come evening, a smart selection of light bites hits exactly the right note, perfectly paired with a superb range of local beers and quality drinks. Simple, honest, and done brilliantly.
