Set in the charming Nottinghamshire village of Wellow, it takes its name from the magnificent 60-foot maypole that proudly stands nearby, one of the tallest in the country. Inside, independently owned by Graham Lawrence, the pub has been beautifully presented, with clear attention to quality throughout. The food is excellent, generous, well prepared and exactly what you want after a day exploring this corner of Nottinghamshire. Just as impressive is the team, whose friendly and welcoming approach makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. For those wishing to stay longer, there are also thirteen perfectly furnished bedrooms, making The Maypole an ideal base for a relaxing break. This is a pub with real personality, combining great food, comfortable accommodation and traditional village hospitality.
