The Lido

Attractions

The Lido is a veritable oasis tucked within a courtyard of Georgian Terraces, combining urban-chic with the feel of a luxurious country home. Whether you enjoy truly authentic food, a casual swim, drinking superb coffee and delicious cakes, making full use of the spa facilities, or becoming a full-member, the Lidos dedicated staff can facilitate the experience in this innovative environment.

It goes without saying that experience is everything. Here at the Lido you are invited to take your time to unwind and reflect, read or chat. The Lido provides an opportunity, to unhook in the midst of the city, a holiday on your doorstep.

Review

Bath has it's Roman Baths which is also featured in this chapter of the Top 100 Attractions in SW England & The Midlands book. But only 14 miles down the road is the Lido, Bristols answer to the Romans luxury pool, but built in an Egyptian style instead. The difference between both attractions is that in Bath you get to see exactly what the Romans discovered and later turned into one of Britains biggest attractions, but here in Bristol, you actually get to experience first hand what a dip in one of these baths is like. Pure relaxation is what you will experience when you take a dip in the Lidos luxury pool, and with the inclusion of one of Bristol's finest restaurants you can definitely make an afternoon of it. Having been here since 1849, this municipal public bath has been painstakingly and perfectly restored to its former glory!
