The Holburne Museum
Bath's Holburne Museum is open daily and admission to the Museum and art collection is free. You will find a beautiful and fascinating art collection in one of Bath's great buildings. The stunning modern extension has galleries to explore and a garden café which opens onto the park behind, serving fresh seasonal lunches and delicious cakes. An eclectic collection of art includes everything from Renaissance treasures to masterpieces by Gainsborough, Zoffany and Brueghel and from fine embroideries to exquisite silver and porcelain; there is lots to enjoy and take pleasure in.There is a changing temporary exhibition programme and calendar of events full of creative art activities and music including lunchtime and evening recitals. Free admission, open daily 10am to 5pm.11am to 5pm Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Having spent some time with Sir Roy Strong who used to be the curator/ director of both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, during the installation of the new audio guide into his newly opened Laskett Gardens, I have taken a personal interest in the world of art. This personal interest has grown even stronger after my visit to the Holburne Museum here in Bath. In partnership with Bath's Spa University this art gallery is one that should be put onto anyone's itinerary whilst visiting Bath. I arrived at this museum not being particularly an avid art lover, but after my visit to the Holburne I really have learned to appreciate the dedication and passion that goes into each and every piece on display here. With ever changing exhibitions, the Holburne Museum and Art Gallery is certainly one of the areas leading attractions, one that will capture all who visit.
