The George Borrow Hotel
Review
“a lofty mountain in the far distance, a hill right before me…” G. H. Borrow.
The celebrated 17th Century coaching inn, The George Barrow, is a family owned Hotel B&B, situated within the Cambrian Mountains, and is named after the famous writer who stayed there in 1852. Gracefully sequestered on the edge of the lush Rheidol Gorge, and boasting stunning mountain views from lovely, spacious en-suite bedrooms. The George Borrow Hotel makes a perfect place in which to relax, unwind and recharge. Individually designed rooms provide all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The restaurant serves fresh, homemade food and includes a full breakfast to kick-start your day. The Cambrian Mountains are a tableland of rolling moorland ridges, bejewelled with silvery lakes, and were romantically described by George Borrow in his book ‘Wild Wales.’
