The Crown & Shamrock
Review
“ A pint of plain is your only man.” Flann O’Brien.
From the outside, The Crown and Shamrock appears to be your quintessential warm and welcoming Irish pub. However, just sneak a look through its history book, and it actually holds more intrigue, mystery, misadventures and colourful characters, than your average best selling Gothic romance. Established in 1872, this charming and fascinating pub has been run by the same family since the 1930s. Located just north of Belfast, Newtownabbey, The Crown and Shamrock Inn makes a wonderful place to take a break from your sojourning and relax a while. Hugely popular, the service is first class and with several rooms for customers to choose from, including a delightful beer garden. Music, stories and a bite to eat, you may end up staying all day long. Mystery enthusiasts will love the story of ‘ the hidden door.’
