Having stayed at the Cross Keys in the charming Borders town of Peebles, I can personally recommend this excellent little pub as a wonderfully comfortable and affordable place to stay. Formerly a Wetherspoons, the property is now privately Scottish owned, with proprietors who have brought a refreshing sense of individuality and genuine hospitality to the experience. The bedrooms are thoughtfully presented, offering impressive quality and comfort without an intimidating price tag. What really sets the Cross Keys apart, however, is its delightful team. Friendly, personable and always willing to go that extra mile, they make guests feel genuinely welcome from the moment they arrive. For travellers exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders, this is a terrific base that proves good hospitality needn't cost a fortune. Highly recommended!

Having enjoyed a thoroughly satisfying meal at the Cross Keys in Peebles, I can confidently say that this excellent little pub delivers both quality and exceptional value for money. After a busy day exploring the magnificent Scottish Borders, there's something wonderfully comforting about sitting down to a hearty meal in such welcoming surroundings. The food is generously presented, freshly prepared and, importantly, priced to suit almost every pocket. However, the real highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the fruit crumble, quite simply one of the finest I've ever tasted! Absolutely delicious and worth returning for alone. Whether you're staying overnight or simply passing through Peebles, the Cross Keys makes a fantastic stop for affordable, satisfying food served with genuine Scottish hospitality. A great little find!
