The Cholmeley Arms in Burton Coggles is exactly the sort of country inn I always hope to find: independently run, full of character and driven by genuine pride. Owner-chef Adam Green may have only been at the helm for a few years, but his experience in kitchens is evident from the moment the food arrives. Adam understands that great cooking starts with great produce, and that same attention to quality extends through the drinks list, right down to the coffee. The result is food that feels confident, carefully prepared and refreshingly unpretentious. Outside, five furnished bedrooms provide cosy, comfortable accommodation, each finished to a high standard and ideal for a peaceful night in the Lincolnshire countryside. Just as important is the welcome. Adam’s team are warm, friendly and attentive, giving the Cholmeley Arms the relaxed atmosphere every country inn should have.
