Driving through Rippingale feels like stepping into a scene from The Archers, fitting, given the programme’s Lincolnshire connection through farmer Henry Burtt, who suggested a similar rural storyline to creator Godfrey Baseley in 1946. At the heart of this village stands The real Bull Inn, a welcoming and affordable base for exploring the county. I would recommend staying for a few nights, rather than simply passing through. Owners Simon and Carol Girdler, together with their son Kristian, may only have been here a short time, but they have already created a warm, friendly atmosphere that immediately puts guests at ease. The rooms are comfortable, the food is hearty and well prepared, and there is a sense of hospitality throughout. Whether you are planning a romantic escape, a Lincolnshire touring break or simply a peaceful night away, The Bull Inn is a place where you will be very well looked after.
