The Bounty Bar & Accommodation
Review
Set in the historic heart of Trim, The Bounty Bar & Accommodation took my breath away the moment I stepped inside. What looks modest from the street opens into one of Ireland’s truest hidden gems: a sleek, on-trend space where no expense has been spared. Hosts Clive & Fiona set the tone, warm, attentive and genuinely invested in every guest’s experience. Bedrooms are wonderfully modern, spotlessly kept and restful; the kind of rooms you look forward to returning to. Downstairs, the courtyard hums with easy conversation and Mediterranean street food that delivers comfort and flair in equal measure. At the bar, real Irish favourites are poured with pride. Come as a visitor, leave as a friend, The Bounty truly captures the spirit of Irish hospitality.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The Bounty Bar in Trim is the kind of place that truly wins you over on arrival. Trad music flows a few nights a week, the pints are spot on and the buzz is absolutely palpable. Out back, a purpose-built beer garden serves superb Mediterranean street food, fresh, lively and perfect with a cold drink. Even if you’re not staying in one of their six rooms, you’re more than welcome to join the fun. The locals are friendly, the craic is mighty and service is genuinely warm. It’s easy to reach, too: historic Trim, with its magnificent castle, is close to the motorway, making The Bounty Bar a perfect stop on any journey. A true hidden gem I’m happy to shout about time and again.

The award winning Play Centre here in Trim is, in my opinion, one of the finest indoor play venues I’ve come across in all my years writing these books. Owner Joe Hutchinson has created a bright, spacious and safe environment where children can run, climb and explore while parents

County Meath Golf Club
County Meath Golf Club is in sparkling form, thanks to the superb stewardship of John Ennis and his first-rate team, including golf pro Robin Machin. Conditioning across the course is consistently sharp, greens true and fairways inviting, with clever bunkering that rewards strategic play

The Hot Box Sauna (Bective)
Hot Box Sauna at Bective Mill delivers a deeply restorative experience in a setting steeped in history. Tucked beside the seventeenth-century mill that once powered local life, it also sits a short, scenic stroll from Bective Abbey, founded in 1147, where Cistercian echoes still linger.
