The Boathouse
The Boat House is very pleased to be winner of Best Restaurant and Best Chef in County Down 2011, 2012 & 2013, and Best Chef in Ulster 2012 by the Restaurant Association of Ireland (RAI).
We believe passionately that superior cuisine and fine wine should be enjoyed by everyone, making your visit with us the "perfect" dining experience.
Situated on the Seaside of the Seacliff Road right beside Bangor Marina, The Boathouse is a unique and enchanting historical building dating back to the 1840s. One of the ultimate goals during its refurbishment in 1992 was never compromising on the character of these former Coastguards - Harbour Master's house. We are delighted it retains much of its historical charm with its interior tastefully decorated.
Savour the breath taking views of the Marina whilst you chose from our inspired and ever changing Menu, if you are struggling to choose why not try one of our tasting menu's and let the chefs surprise your taste buds.
At the Boathouse we are committed to standards of excellence and that's why we only ever use the highest quality and the freshest local ingredients such as shellfish and seafood straight from the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic, Lough Neagh, Belfast Lough, Carlingford Lough and Strangford Lough.
Our meat, game and poultry are all sourced locally wherever possible ensuring the flavours of our dishes remains unimpaired. Our food is served with classic simplicity and to further enhance your dining experience; with us, we have a wide selection of fine wines, which reflect an emphasis of old world vineyards with some exciting new world wines to complete our selection. Also our spirits selection can compete with the best in the country, most of them are specially imported so why not try something different when you dine with us.
The Boathouse offer the perfect recipe for the ultimate dining experience all served in an ambience of charm and relaxation.
For our hungry Yachtsman visitor there are mooring facilities available only minutes walk away which will allow a welcome land break and afford the opportunity to take in the spectacular views whilst you whet your appetite before you dine with us.
Special occasions, parties and corporate lunches will be made special at the Boathouse with care been taken to cater each event to your specific requirements and we promise to make it an occasion to remember.
Come dine with us and discover why The Boat House is so special....
