The Beehive Inn, Hotel & Restaurant
Review
Horringer cum Ickworth, to give this chocolate-box Suffolk village its full and rather lovely title, sits just a few short miles from Bury St Edmunds, yet feels wonderfully removed from modern life itself. Driving through, I almost believed I had slipped through a black hole and landed somewhere in the Cotswolds. It is, without question, one of the most romantic villages I have found in Suffolk, and at its heart sits The Beehive Inn. This charming country inn has everything a couple could wish for: character, warmth, wonderful rooms and food that makes the journey worthwhile on its own. The owners, supported by their excellent general manager Caroline, have created a pub that feels genuine, welcoming and quietly special. It is exactly why I continue to champion independently owned venues in my books, where care and personality still truly matter. With only a handful of rooms, booking in advance is recommended.
