Battlefield Falconry Centre is a new and exciting family run business that offers a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. It's located at the Battlefield 1403 farm shop site at Battlefield in Shrewsbury and is owned by Mark Southall who is a full experienced falconer.

There are around 40 different birds of prey to see including some wonderful species owls, falcons and hawks. All birds are provided with the highest accommodation and they are cared for in a beautiful environment with spectacular surroundings.

Battlefield Falconry Centre also offers a range of activities with the number one being ‘Hawks on Walks' where a customer participates by walking through the woodland on the Albrighton Estate at Battlefield accompanied with a falconer and a Harris Hawk which flies to the glove throughout the walk. . It's such an exciting experience and most people are wow'd by it!

In addition to ‘Hawks on Walks' the falconry also offer bird handling sessions, photography sessions, children's parties and corporate events.

Review

This attraction is a newcomer to the tourism industry, but after a visit here, you'd be none of the wiser. I was so impressed by this slickly run operation and the value for money that can be expected here, that we simply had to have them in the book. Not only do they run the Falconry Centre amazingly well, but their ‘Hawks On Walks' side of the business really does help to prove that the Centre is a serious player in what is a very competitive market. I am very confident that the centre has a very bright future, and with their very successful bird breeding programme, they are also helping to keep many of the species on show here, available for many other bird centres also. All in all a trip here does not disappoint, you will want to return time and time again.
