Swtan Heritage Museum
Review
“Better, like a figurehead, hair flowing, to keep eyes forward looking…in his straw hat rowing.” R. Dey.
Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near to the stunning cliff tops of Church Bay: the Anglesey Swtan Heritage Museum, makes a fascinating way to spend your day, and peels back layers of ancient history, to reveal a sneak glimpse into how life once was. Interesting activities, and wonderful areas to explore will keep the whole family entertained, including the little ones, who will get the opportunity to feed hungry hens. Swtan is a fully restored 17th Century thatched cottage, and tells the story of rural Welsh life circa 1900. Friendly and informative; Swtans’ custodians enthuse visitors with stories that help them understand the way people once lived. Indeed, Cyfeillon Swatan/Friends of Swtan, run this highly successful site today as a charitable trust. Vegetable plots, herbs and medicine are all showcased beautifully.
