Ruthin Castle Hotel and Spa
Our banquets are renowned, starting with an introduction in the Presence Room where all guests assemble and partake of bread and salt, age-old symbols of hospitality. Fully costumed Ladies of the Court and the Court Steward then lead you into the candlelit Banquet Hall with its heavily laden tables. Ladies of the Court,
The Court Steward and the Jester entertain, sing, jest and lead the feasting with only dagger and fingers accompanied by a tasting of mead from clay cups and wine quaffed from pewter goblets. The Medieval Banquet includes a 4 course banquet. You’re welcome to wear costumes if you wish. It’s an event not to be missed!

Review
Firstly, let me tell you about the Medieval Banquets that are held here at Ruthin Castle twice monthly. Being a huge fan of these types of events and frequenting many whilst writing my Irish book, I am hugely critical, however, having been to a banquet here in Ruthin, I can tell you, there is not much to be critical of. Great food, first class medieval entertainment and all set within a truly authentic setting, you couldn’t be in better company and all for a very reasonable price. Then of course, Ruthin Castle is also a Hotel and with some very sumptuous suites, each with their own name and a selection of luxurious rooms, you’ll not be disappointed with your stay at all! Finally, the hotel has two options for you to dine in. There’s Berties, which is the hotels main restaurant and if fine dining isn’t what you’re looking for, there is always the library bar, but no matter what, you’ll not be disappointed with either.
