Ponderosa Zoo
Review
Ponderosa Zoo is the ultimate day out for the family in the Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, area. The animals here enjoy spacious, clean enclosures that mimic their natural habitats – and there are plenty of them. They have everything from endangered Madagascan lemurs to rare Scottish wildcats and most creatures in between. Some of the animals are available for your kids to handle and get to know, including tortoises and rabbits. What we love about this zoo is that it is wheelchair friendly and has a partnership with a therapeutic centre for disabled folk. Apart from the huge array of animals, they offer a reptile room, zip wire slide, a beach with a pirate ship and an adventure play area. There are several picnic areas as well as a super restaurant and ice cream parlour on the site. An affordable and enjoyable adventure.
