O’Donovan’s Hotel & An Teach Beag
Review
Clonakilty is a town that wears its history with pride, and O’Donovans Hotel feels like one of the places where that story is still being lived. It’s rare I’m lost for where to begin, but here the past and present are so neatly woven that you notice it in every corner. Bedrooms are honest and cosy, with the kind of comfort that lets you properly switch off, and a team who genuinely go the extra mile without fuss. Downstairs, the food is a real draw, and I always trust a dining room that’s busy with locals. The true jewel, though, is An Teach Beag, the historic pub tucked to the rear. Step inside and you’re met with memorabilia, warm conversation, and traditional music that makes the whole place hum. Pull up a stool and you’ll feel time slow down in minutes. It’s a Clonakilty evening and one that you’ll never forget.
