Review
In the historic village of Sanquhar, the Nithsdale Hotel is one of those wonderful places that genuinely exceeds expectations. Officially rated three stars, I firmly believe this charming hotel deserves four. Family owned and lovingly run by the Argue family for over thirty years, its warmth and hospitality are apparent from the moment you arrive. With over a dozen beautifully furnished, cosy bedrooms, there’s something wonderfully romantic about escaping here together, particularly when accompanied by an excellent meal in their delightful Oasis Restaurant. The friendly team deserve special praise, as nothing ever seems too much trouble. What particularly impressed me was the family’s genuine passion for hospitality, something increasingly difficult to find nowadays. With the recent addition of their new riverside glamping pods, guests now have even more choice. Whether enjoying a romantic weekend or exploring this beautiful corner of Scotland, the Nithsdale Hotel is an absolute gem. Highly recommended!
