Middleton Railway
Review
“Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too, because it’s getting nearer, it soon will be with you…” C. Stevens.
The Award-Winning Middleton Railway, situated in the City of Leeds, Yorkshire is the oldest continuously working railway, originally founded in 1758, and is now a heritage railway, run completely by volunteers. There’s something truly bewitching about the sight and sound of the Middleton Railway vintage steam and diesel locomotives, as they rumble through the countryside, trailing silvery clouds behind them, and drawing trains full of happy passengers on exciting journeys. There is also a fab museum to browse around that celebrates the Leeds Locomotive building and features wonderfully restored steam and diesel locomotives as well as a charming cafe, in which to take a break. This unique, well maintained attraction, is perfect for a family day-out, with friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, who create a lovely welcome atmosphere.
