Michael Collins Centre & Museum
Review
Just a few miles from the historic town of Clonakilty, the Michael Collins Centre & Museum is far more than a simple stop on the map, it’s a genuine step back into Ireland’s revolutionary past. From the moment you arrive, you’re invited to immerse yourself in the world Michael Collins inhabited, and to better understand the pressures, politics and personal sacrifices behind his dream for a free nation. Created with real care by Tom Crowley and his wife Delores, the visitor experience is outstanding. Tom is a captivating storyteller and a true wealth of knowledge, not only on Collins himself, but on the wider cast of characters and events that shaped and ultimately sealed his fate. I could have listened to his stories all day! The presentation, combined with an impressive display of rare Collins artifact's, is well worth the entrance fee. No Cork itinerary feels complete without it, for me.

Clonakilty is a town that wears its history with pride, and O’Donovans Hotel feels like one of the places where that story is still being lived. It’s rare I’m lost for where to begin, but here the past and present are so neatly woven that you notice it in every corner. Bedrooms are honest and cosy,

Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens
Fernhill House & Gardens is far more than an award-winning hotel, it’s a polished West Cork escape that feels quietly extraordinary from the moment you arrive. Although I’m endorsing Fernhill for my special Romantic Destinations book, this is genuinely a place for everyone, couples,
