Review
Michael A’s Pub and Accommodation is a great find here in the heart of Miltown Malbay. Whether you’re on a Father Ted pilgrimage, touring Co. Clare, or road-tripping Ireland, this is the perfect base for two or three days. The pub is modern, friendly and atmospheric, a place where conversations linger. Your host David O’Brien, who took over the reins from his dad, has delivered a refurbishment that honours the past while raising its standards. I based myself here for a few days and had a wonderful stay. Bedrooms are beautifully finished, with a no-expense-spared attitude evident in every detail, and there’s also a neat one-bedroom apartment for extra space. Expect spotless bathrooms and comfy beds. With a handful of rooms, a stay here won’t break the bank. There are plenty of places for food locally and It’s ideal for exploring Lahinch, the Cliffs of Moher, and its rugged coast.
