Loughcrew Estate
Review
Loughcrew Estate makes a striking debut in this Ireland edition, yet host Emily Naper is no stranger to our readers. Having already impressed at Pembrokeshire’s Manorbier Castle, Emily and her capable team deliver the kind of welcome and care that turns a visit into a memory. The seventeenth-century House and Gardens unfold with grace, avenues, vistas and stories layered through time, while nearby St. Oliver Plunkett’s church adds a contemplative, historic note. Few places achieve all four of our Hidden Gem markers; Loughcrew does so with ease. Accessibility is another plus: just about an hour from Dublin and close to the motorway, it’s a straightforward escape that feels a world away. After exploring, settle in at the excellent coffee shop and savour the moment. Hospitality, heritage and gentle adventure combine here, making Loughcrew Estate a standout addition and a place I’ll happily send readers to time again and time again.
