Eating Out

Review

Set in New Quay, Linnane’s Lobster Bar is one of those rare places that carries its history with grace while still feeling alive and exciting. Originally a thatched dwelling more than 300 years ago, it has served many roles over the centuries, from small pub to post office, and today stands proudly among Ireland’s finest seafood destinations. It is so special that I’ve included it as one of our Hidden Gem attractions. The latest custodians, Conor Graham and his business partner Mark Commins, seasoned in the hospitality trade, took over from Conor’s mum and dad, and they’ve protected everything that makes this place so unique. Success has not changed its soul: it remains honest, warm, and deeply focused on every guest. They also own Flaggy Shore Oysters behind the restaurant, so the oysters quite literally could not be fresher. For me, this is coastal Clare hospitality at its most authentic.
