Legenderry Warehouse No1

Eating Out

Legenderry Warehouse No.1 is a Coffee Shop, newly opened in the heart of the Maiden City. Located next door to one of the cities focal buildings, the Guildhall, it is sure to be a hub of cultural and creative activity. The building itself was originally based on the design of the first warehouse in Manchester.

The café has grown organically through collaborations from from three successful local companies; Bang on the Door, NU Print and Harry's Restaurant.

Karen Desmond, along with her business partner founded Bang on the Door in 1986. The company is a globally known design and illustration company, with their Groovy Chick brand being Brand of the Year in 2000. Now bringing her ideas home and providing artwork for the City of Culture 2013 celebrations. Based in Burt, Co. Donegal, they have been said to be the North West's best-kept secret. Karen with her design background has coordinated the branding and interior of the coffee shop.

NU Print is a printing company located in an industrial estate in the suburbs of the city. Presently owned by Alan McClure and Gavin Killeen although founded 1984. The company began as a specialist supplier of labels to the clothing industry, with clients included M&S, Harrods and Fruit of the Loom. Printing over 400 million labels each year, the company is continually flourishing in all aspects.

Harry's is a restaurant located in Bridgend, Co. Donegal. Currently managed by Donal Doherty, Kevin Doherty and Raymond Moran. The restaurant has a simple idea of sourcing all food from the peninsula of Innishowen, by doing this they combine the best of local produce whilst sustaining support for local people. Noted in Bridgestone's Top 100 Restaurants in 2010 the highest regard has to be given for this delicious business.

The coffee shop has also had the full support of the Culture Company who has provided additional funding for this venture. The Warehouse will provide retail space for many local artists and designers to showcase their work, therefore supporting and promoting local talent.
