Lamphey Hall Hotel & Restaurant
Review
“The spring is fresh and fearless, and every leaf is new.” S. Teasdale.
Lamphey Hall is one of the old guards in this book, having been endorsed now for the fourth time. Tucked away on the far south western corner of the welsh coast, quietly sequestered in the village of Lamphey; Lamphey Hall Hotel offers superb food, and a delightful break from the ordinary. Now under new management, a fabulous breath of fresh air runs through every corridor of this historic building. As I approached the hotel, I was immediately impressed by this former rectory, now a well appointed and elegant hotel. Robert Jones, the new proprietor of Lamphey Hall Hotel, is a seasoned chef who brings a new, and refreshing approach to this locally loved establishment. Due to its central location, Lamphey Hall Hotel is perfectly placed for business and pleasure.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The food here at the Lamphey Hall Hotel has always been good, with people travelling from all over the county just to eat here. With this popular hotel under new ownership, things have only gotten better. Owner/ Chef Robert Jones brings decades of experience to Lamphey, and he has a clear vision of how he wants his hotel and restaurant to be run. Having been in three of my previous Wales’ books; the restaurant and bistro have both recently undergone an excellent refurbishment, which means that both atmosphere and dining experiences are now better than ever. Passionate about cooking and serving fresh and flavoursome real food, all ingredients are locally sourced and utterly delicious. The menu is large and varied: abundant with scrumptious options for every palate, including superb Sunday lunches, light bites and long leisurely evening meals.
