Founded by renowned distiller Brendan Carty, this independent distillery stays true to the ancient art of whiskey-making, delivering some of the finest spirits on the island of Ireland. What sets Killowen apart is its dedication to small-batch production, ensuring every bottle is crafted with care and precision rather than mass production. Unlike large-scale distilleries with elaborate visitor centers, Killowen truly remains focused on quality over quantity. The team, led by Brendan, produces whiskey, poitín, gin, rum, and liqueurs, all available from their online shop. Tours are available but limited, so booking in advance is not only recommended, but essential. The experience is intimate, educational, and unforgettable. Once you visit, you don’t just leave with great whiskey, you leave with a deeper appreciation for the craft and a piece of Killowen’s magic.
