There is something wonderfully authentic about Kerrigan’s Bar & Restaurant in the heart of Mullingar, a town bursting with personality yet retaining its friendly village atmosphere. Purchased by Brendan Kerrigan in 1972, this much-loved family establishment has flourished under Brendan, his wife Carmel, and their children Natalie and Justin. With strong GAA connections, match days here are particularly memorable, when the atmosphere becomes positively electric! Although the pub itself doesn't serve food, the adjoining coffee shop offers excellent coffee and delicious light bites. Upstairs, guests will find comfortable, modern bedrooms, making Kerrigan’s an excellent alternative to Ireland’s increasingly expensive chain hotels. With private parking available, it’s also wonderfully convenient for exploring the surrounding countryside and travelling across Ireland in practically any direction. What particularly appeals to me is the genuine family hospitality and unmistakable character of this establishment. For comfortable accommodation and traditional Irish hospitality, Kerrigan’s certainly deserves my recommendation.
