JJ Killeen’s
Review
On the banks of the River Shannon in the ever-popular village of Shannonbridge, JJ Killeen’s has roared back to life. After a few years closed, it’s now under the stewardship of Liam Fallon, who has spared no expense renovating this gem into one of Ireland’s most iconic Irish pubs. Step inside and you’ll find a confident mix of the old and the new: heritage character kept proudly on show, paired with warm, contemporary comfort. Upstairs, seven fantastic bedrooms make it an easy base for a Shannon-side escape. Service is a standout too, with a genuinely friendly team who go the extra mile for everyone, resident or day-tripper. And the food? Stuff of legend: generous portions, honest flavours, and a menu that won’t break the bank. Arrive hungry, stay longer than expected, and you’ll leave planning your return. If you want a table at peak times, book ahead; Shannonbridge locals know why.
