The Grantham Arms in Boroughbridge is a shining example of independent hospitality done right. During my week exploring North Yorkshire and the Dales, this pub left a long lasting impression. Featured on Four in a Bed and performing admirably, it remains refreshingly humble. Owner Simon and his wife have poured passion and attention to detail into every aspect, from the beautifully designed rooms to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s quirky and boutique, but without an ounce of pretentiousness. The food is every bit as impressive as the accommodation, with a menu that showcases quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Their commitment to excellence extends to every guest, making it clear why independent pubs like this far outshine chains. Honest, cosy, and undeniably special, the Grantham Arms and its team, offers an experience that lingers long after you leave. A true North Yorkshire gem that deserves every bit of high praise.
