Review
Glendeer Pet Farm, located just outside Athlone, is a family-run gem that continues to raise the bar when it comes to visitor experience. This is the second time I’ve endorsed Glendeer, and I’m delighted to say it’s even better than before. Immaculately maintained and welcoming from the moment you arrive, the farm is home to a wide variety of animals, from traditional favourites to more exotic residents like monkeys and meerkats. It’s not just about the animals though, history buffs will enjoy stepping into the lovingly preserved old farmer’s cottage, while the younger (and young at heart) will be enchanted by the fairy trail, which winds along an ancient roadway through the grounds. With its friendly team of staff, spotless facilities, and genuine passion for creating a memorable day out, Glendeer offers excellent value and an experience that feels both wholesome and magical. A true credit to Ireland’s family attractions.
