Domain Boutique Stays is a smart base in the historic city of Lancaster, steps from the castle, moments from an award winning park and a trove of cafés, galleries and indie shops. It’s ideal for exploring Lancashire, the North Yorkshire Moors, Cumbria and the Lake District without paying Lake District prices. The owners have curated seven handsome rooms that balance comfort and quiet luxury; rates are refreshingly sensible. I stayed in the premier room, “The Castle,” and loved its calm vibe. Plush linens and thoughtful touches, but every room here has its own personality. Expect great mattresses, blackout blinds, steaming showers and a genuinely restful night’s sleep. Self-check-in was seamless and precise, with clear, simple instructions that worked first time. Warm, polished and friction-free, Domain Boutique Stays really is the kind of place you book for one night and vow to return for more. I cannot recommend this place enough!
