Review

In the heart of Cashel, where centuries of history rise above the rooftops, the Cashel Palace Hotel feels like a love letter to Irish hospitality. I normally judge a property after a tour and a quick chat; this time I was lucky enough to stay, and for once I genuinely ran out of words. This five star property in my opinion is one of the best in Ireland, every space is dressed with quiet confidence, and luxury comes as standard rather than a sales pitch. From the softly lit corridors to the warm welcome at reception, everything whispers “slow down”. Dining is equally spellbinding. Choose the Michelin-starred restaurant for polished perfection, or settle into Mikey Ryan’s, where I enjoyed one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. It’s the place that makes you hold hands longer again. If you’re after a romantic base with five-star ease, it doesn’t get better than this.
