Bunratty Castle & Folk Park
If you are looking to discover some of Ireland’s hidden gems, you must absolutely visit Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. The castle is breathtaking and such an enchanting place. Dating back to 1425, it is stunning inside and out. From elegant furniture to incredible tapestries, it is filled with treasures from the past. Most of the Art and decor date back from the 1400’s. It is known to be ‘the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland’. For a unique experience, why not join one of their evening medieval banquets? Yes! They organise fun banquets all year around so do not miss out on reserving your space. If you love the outdoors, you will adore Folk park too. It is there where you can completely immerse yourself into what life was back in the 19th Century, in Ireland. From the church to the farmhouses and the walled garden, this location is a joy to discover. There is even a whole village street that boasts shops, a pub and a post office! It is such a magical destination. Ideally located on 26 acres, worldwide visitors love it here. For some extra fun, keep an eye out as there is a traditional night organised there 6 months per year. Planning on visiting the Shannon region? These are two of the top attractions in Ireland.
Review
Before being fortunate enough to travel all over the UK & Ireland visiting some amazing tourist attractions, I had visited Bunratty a few times. Every time I returned back to this attraction I saw something different that I hadn't noticed the previous time. I like the way every care and attention has gone into restoring these buildings from where they originated, too here on Bunratty's popular folk park. Not only can you walk at your own leisurely pace around the castle and folk park, but a trip to Bunratty isn't complete until you've been to the popular Bunratty Medieval Banquet. A five course food extravaganza awaits you and some amazing music and cheer to boot. I found the banquet to be fantastic value for money, and after visiting a couple of attractions of this nature I have to say Bunratty is about the best Medieval Banquet that I have been too.
