Brogans Bar & Hotel
Review
Brogan’s Bar & Hotel in Trim is the kind of find that reminds you why you travel. For almost a decade, owners Maureen and Don Bake have stewarded a sensitive restoration, reviving a landmark and turning it into a lively destination. I’ve featured Brogan’s as a hidden-gem attraction, not merely somewhere to sleep and eat. The kitchen cooks with confidence, locally sourced hearty plates balanced by bright, well-judged flavours and service moves with warm ease. Bedrooms are cosily dressed, quiet and thoughtfully equipped, the sort of refuge that makes you linger for one more song downstairs. Speaking of which: live music animates the week, drawing locals and visitors into a convivial hum that feels unmistakably Meath. Add a well-poured pint, a welcome and wedding packages that let couples claim the whole storybook setting and you’ve a venue that’s become the place to visit in the county, if not far beyond.

The Play Centre - Trim
The award winning Play Centre here in Trim is, in my opinion, one of the finest indoor play venues I’ve come across in all my years writing these books. Owner Joe Hutchinson has created a bright, spacious and safe environment where children can run, climb and explore while parents

County Meath Golf Club
County Meath Golf Club is in sparkling form, thanks to the superb stewardship of John Ennis and his first-rate team, including golf pro Robin Machin. Conditioning across the course is consistently sharp, greens true and fairways inviting, with clever bunkering that rewards strategic play

The Hot Box Sauna (Bective)
Hot Box Sauna at Bective Mill delivers a deeply restorative experience in a setting steeped in history. Tucked beside the seventeenth-century mill that once powered local life, it also sits a short, scenic stroll from Bective Abbey, founded in 1147, where Cistercian echoes still linger.
