Blarney Woollen Mills in Bunratty is proof that a retail stop can feel like a proper attraction. This is the brand’s second flagship site beside a famous Irish castle, and it brings the same mix of trusted labels, Irish crafts, homewares and fashion you’d expect from the original in Blarney, Co. Cork. I rarely pass Bunratty Castle without calling in, because the food offering is every bit as tempting as the shopping. Jilly & Joes does a terrific lunch, or a light bite and when the weather behaves, the courtyard outside is a lovely spot for cake and coffee. The staff are genuinely friendly and quick to help, and with the store open seven days a week it’s an easy detour on the Cork–Galway run. From a cosy scarf to a statement sofa, everything feels well made too. Blarney’s story is an Irish success, and Bunratty lets you experience it.
