Birdsall House
Review
Birdsall House and Estate is one of Yorkshire’s biggest and brightest hidden gems. This magnificent farming estate is set on picturesque, secluded grounds 20 miles north-east of York. The estate has been in the same family for 300 years; in fact your guided tour is presented by none other than Lady Cara herself, who charmingly recounts for you the history, comical anecdotes and wealth of knowledge that is exclusive to Birdsall. This estate offers a lot – from being a mountain biking venue to having an interesting topography that makes it ideal for partridge and pheasant shooting or one can take lessons in clay pigeon shooting.Of course Birdsall Estate lends itself to being the ideal wedding venue, with incredible views of the Yorkshire Wolds and the Vale of York. As it remains a family home, it is imperative to check their website in order to make a booking or to phone them ahead of time to join a tour.

Seaways of Fridaythorpe
Seaways Glamping, a family-run gem for three decades, beckons with a rich history rooted in the Thatcher family's famed roadside cafe, where I found the staff to be super friendly. This North Yorkshire stopover, renowned for its warmth and charm, extends beyond culinary delights to a quaint gift shop
