Atlantic Air Adventures
Review
Atlantic Air Adventures, based at the Shannon Aviation Museum in County Clare, is where flight fantasy feels wonderfully real. Step into their full-cockpit B737-800 simulator, built from an original airliner, and you’re suddenly lining up on the runway, instruments glowing and engines humming. I’ve sat in that captain’s seat myself and was lucky enough to “fly” a lap around Ireland, an utterly unforgettable experience under the calm guidance of an expert instructor, which is something I’ll never forget. What I love so much here is the blend of fun, education and pure inspiration. While one moment you’re handling a tricky landing, the next you’re wandering the surrounding museum, nose-to-nose with historic aircraft and fascinating exhibits that bring aviation stories to life. This is the second time I’ve selected Atlantic Air Adventures for my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book and they continue to absolutely deserve their place.
