Ashvale Farm Shop & Garden Centre
Review
Just a short drive from the historic linen town of Lisburn lies the Ashvale Farm Shop, a shining example of what a family-run business can achieve with passion, pride, and purpose. This is the second time Ashvale has been featured in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book and believe me, for good reason. Since my first visit four years ago, the experience has only improved. From the warm and welcoming tearoom serving hearty and tasty homemade dishes to the thoughtfully stocked farm shop bursting with local produce and treats, there’s something here for everyone. And then there’s Dear Anna’s Boutique, a stylish and carefully curated space that adds a unique charm to the whole site. Run by the dedicated Herron family, Ashvale offers more than just food and gifts, it offers a feel-good experience that keeps people coming back. A must-visit when in the Lisburn area.
GARDEN CENTRE
Tucked away just a short drive from the historic linen town of Lisburn, the new Garden Centre at Ashvale Farm Shop is a true hidden gem that earns its place for the first time in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book. Family owned and run by the ever-dedicated Herron family, Ashvale is a shining example of how a farm shop and garden centre should be done. The garden centre offers an impressive variety of plants, flowers, and gardening essentials, all beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Add to this the tearoom and orangery, where the warm and welcoming team serve up fresh, locally sourced dishes, and you have a destination that effortlessly blends hospitality with horticulture. Whether you're green-fingered or simply seeking a relaxing day out, Ashvale continues to grow, quite literally, into one of the area’s best-kept secrets. A must-visit for garden lovers and foodies alike.
