Allt y Bela
Review
“The tree gives me shade, the shade turns to shadow, He turns to speak, the apple tree man lives in a secret garden, and I held the key.” Regan/Cousin/Bricheno.
Sitting at the bottom of a wooded valley, the tangerine-coloured Allt y Bela B&B, Usk, rises from amongst the Monmouthshire countryside like something from a magical fairytale. Offering guests an exquisite, well-appointed place to stay, Allt y Bela is a Grade II listed, medieval, cruck-framed farmhouse with renaissance tower, perfectly positioned amongst atmospheric grounds, and gardens that have been exceptionally created by garden designer, Arne Maynard. This extraordinary medieval farmhouse has been lovingly restored with the utmost care and attention to detail, so much so, that guests will feel like they have been transported to another world. Blending the past and the present seamlessly, there is an enhanced sense of comfort and beauty that permeates throughout, from the luscious beams and plush furnishings, to roaring open fires, so why not leave the ordinary world behind for a while, and enter the sublime.
