Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel
Review
The history of this golf course dates back to 1978 when a group of businessmen saw the potential for a country house hotel on the grounds of this incredible example of an old English manor. The golf course was carefully and sympathetically designed to preserve the natural features that the land presented and to take advantage of natural water hazards. The team at the golf course are experts committed to your golf growth, whether you are a beginner or at professional level. The golf course is surprisingly challenging and boasts exceptional views of the Hambleton Hills and to the west over the River Ouse. It is an 18 hole course with the 19th hole being the alluring Manor Hotel itself - offering guests a bird’s eye view from its stately construct. The golf bar is the perfect place to wrap up a good day of golfing, and with the rooms on offer in the hotel itself, there is no reason for you to have to settle for only one day on the course.
This remarkable English estate dates back to 1865, when Lord Walsingham commissioned the building of a magnificent residence as a wedding present for his eldest daughter. In 1878 the golf course was laid out in a beautifully sympathetic manner to the natural lie of the land, and today both can be enjoyed by guests and golfers alike. This imposing building wears its history finely and offers itself as a four-star hotel for both business and leisure guests, set in 120 acres of Yorkshire’s most beautiful countryside. There are conference rooms available for business events, and of course the beauty of this manor house makes it the perfect spot for a wedding venue. There is a spa and health club on the property to enhance your getaway, and a choice between period or more contemporary rooms. It is conveniently located only eight miles from the A1(M) but surrounded by enough countryside to make you feel far away from the rat race.
