The golf course was carefully and sympathetically designed to preserve the natural features that the land presented and to take advantage of natural water hazards. This remarkable English estate dates back to 1865, when Lord Walsingham commissioned the building of a magnificent residence as a wedding present for his eldest daughter. In 1878 the golf course was laid out in a beautifully sympathetic manner to the natural lie of the land, and today both can be enjoyed by guests and golfers alike.
