Aillwee Cave

Attractions

Are you ready to admire one of the most breathtaking views from Galway Bay? Couples absolutely love it here and it is such a great tour for all ages. Only a short drive away from Galway and Shannon, Aillwee Cave is nestled in the centre of the Burren in County Clare. There is so much to discover and explore here. But first and foremost, immerse yourself in the mystery of this place and start your adventure in this dramatic underworld. The staff are very welcoming and you will even have friendly guides reveal all on this unique tour. It will take around 30 minutes to visit the stunning caverns and it is fun and educational for everyone. Expect to go over bridged chasms, under some mysteriously magical formations and there is also the thunderous waterfall which has been known to gently spray the unsuspecting explorer. *

Review

There are show caves all over the UK and Ireland, some are run very well and some are just ok. But Aillwee is something completely different. The Cave has been a visitor attraction for decades now and where as the Cave itself may not have changed much in that time, the attraction and it's great team of staff have endeavoured to make sure that Aillwee Cave is not only one of the best show caves and attractions in Ireland but also one of Europe's biggest attractions.

Due to various reasons I was lucky enough to visit the site on three separate occasions and no matter what time you come, the Burren remains a very magical place. Christmas is an exceptionally good time to visit Aillwee Cave as the Christmas period the Cave in fact the whole site is decorated very cleverly in Christmas festiveness called Santa's Workshop.
