Aberglasney Mansion & Gardens is the magnificent heritage gardens which have been inspiring poets to put pen to paper since 1477, set in the Tywi Valley: a renowned plantsman’s paradise where visitors can discover, and enjoy 10 acres of gardens, in over 20 different styles from sun-tropical and woodland, to formal and modern. A rich and royal history weaves a fascinating backstory to the medieval house and gardens, situated in the parish of Llangathern, Carmarthenshire in West Wales. Saved from dereliction in 1995, the elegantly remodelled cloister and three gardens (kitchen, woodland and shrub) surrounding its restored 15th-century mansion, are both spirited and approachable. Home to some of the rarest and most unusual plants in the world, as well as a unique Elizabethan/Jacobean cloister and parapet walk.
